Hi. Looking to invest in this software, if there is a way to perform the following;
I am a 99% Windows user on a MacAir. In my home/work/office, I have multiple PC Windows clients and they are automatically backed up to a WHS server daily. I have successfully clone restored images back to regular x86 PC hardware from WHS. It's a set-and-forget backup solution. Where it falls over is the ability for a Mac Air user to restore daily WHS backup back into a bootcamp zone.
Is it possible for a method/utility to allow full access to the NTFS part of the WinClone image and replace the data there-in with recent WHS backup data?
This would be the ideal backup solution for Windows-on-Mac users IMO. It wouldn't have to be confined to WHS, any Windows cloning software/ method could possibly be used.
Hi, thanks for the reply. I wonder if you used a proprietary compression method to make your images? Are you aware of any app that can open up Winclones?
Hi, sorry for the late reply. No need for incremental access. Just a one time access to be able to overwrite the Winclone NTFS backup data with the latest (incremental) WHS backup. I can restore the WHS backup to a spare hard disk. It would need to be mounted by your software or a third party mounter to be able to read it. A sort of manual, but worth while thing to be able to do if I need a bare metal restore. I hardly ever use my MAC OS, so to have to boot into it to perform a Winclone backup every day.
